Club Rueda Session
Salsa Rueda is a seriously fun spectacle and experience!
A Rueda can be as small as two couples, or as large as a space can hold. The couples dance in a circle executing moves called out by a leader. You will learn many easy, playful calls, such as "adios", "enchufla", or "dame". The leaders, usually the men, initiate the execution of the moves. The followers, usually the ladies, perform the moves as guided by the leaders. Salsa Rueda is like a game during which the couples continuously change partners, moving along the circle and dancing with everyone in the group. Rueda is danced to lively, up-beat salsa music, with dancers constantly moving along the circle to their next partner:

Rueda simply means” wheel”. Salsa Rueda or ‘Rueda de Casino’ is a group dance originating in Cuba.


Pascale Dernocoure is the epitome of a trained dancer, with over 10 years experience in ballet, jazz, tap and contemporary dance. Her passion for Latin dance began 8 years ago, when she started teaching and performing in both Salsa and Samba. Since then, Pascale has proven herself to be an outstanding performer, placing second with partner Oren Shoshan in the 2006 Australian National Salsa Championships, as well as qualifying for and competing as a semi-finalist in the 2006 World Salsa Championships in Las Vegas. She has also performed at the LA Salsa Congress and taught in numerous cities across Australia, NZ and Asia.
